I have recently returned from being out of town for a while (first on business and then a family death) and, boy! -- do I have a lot of catching up to do on this list! It's wonderful! I have little by little been researching the DEAN family in Mercer, Lawrence and surrounding counties. I have a copy of some research/gathering that was done on the family in the first part of this century and printed in a family newsletter in the 1940's. I have tried to check out each family with other data (census, wills, etc.) to see if it seems to be correct. I am certainly far from finished. There were two brothers who moved to the area: Jonathan and Zachariah Dean. (There is another Dean family that seems to connect, but so far I have not found the connection.) They also had a sister, Sarah, who was married to Caleb CORBIN. Another sister married a ROGERS. I have mostly concentrated so far on Zachariah's family. He had 2 daughters who married RODGERS. Others married DAVIS, BUMGARTNER and MOORE. I have tried to come down at least three generations on each. There are too many surnames to mention them all. But, if you have anyone who married a Dean, I might have some info and would love to share. I sometimes just get slow -- not enough time to go around.
