Hello! I'm new to the list, and I'm hoping that someone reading this might be able to give me more information about my Rupert relations from New Lebanon. Emanuel and his wife Sarah, Charles Andrew and his wife Effa, and John Edward and his wife Mollie are buried in New Lebanon Cemetery on Carlton (or Carleton?) Road, which is in or near New Lebanon Borough, north of Sandy Lake. Emanuel died in 1921, according to his headstone. He and his family are listed on the US census in New Lebanon from 1880-1920. His wife Sarah died in 1924, again, according to their headstone. Emanuel was a veteran of the Civil War, though he never appears to have applied for a pension. The 1900 US Census reports that he was born in August 1840 in Pennsylvania, but I don't know where he or his family might have lived before 1880. Both his parents and Sarah's were reportedly born in Pennsylvania. He and Sarah were married in the 1860's, after the Civil War. Some of their children were Charles Andrew, John Edward, and Florence. John Edward (died 1971) and one of his sons, Clair (died 1997), probably lived their entire lives in New Lebanon. Thanks for your attention, and best of luck with your own research! Barbara
