If ou know your comfort Hayes lived in VT which we found then NY then PA this has to be the family. I still think you should get a record of the 1850 Census, I think then you will be able to see if this is the father or the son. I still think the comfort you have born 1770 is the father. If his brother was born 1806 there would be 36 yrs between them and even back then it wouldt have been too big of time span between siblings. Have the Lookup see what it says on the 850 Census of Crawford Co. pg. 327 Washingon town. for Comfort Hayes. You can check with the CT Gen Web page to see if they have any additional information on Comfort Hayes.
