    3. Hello Amy McWhirter Hutton, I have not found the burial site of Margaret Clark, b. 1823, d. 1849-50 but I have a few facts which link her to living McWhirters originally from East Lackawanock Twp. There are a couple of differences which may have thrown you off--or else I'm off. The old McWhirter homestead I'm referring to is in East Lackawannock Twp., MERCER County. The home is still there--red brick across from Sharon Auto Wrecking. I was in the home about twenty years ago when one of the sons was renovating the home. I don't know the parents names of this generation but their youngest son of twelve or thirteen children, was Robert Clark McWhirter. He and his wife were dear friends of my husbands and mine. They have both passed on and are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Coolspring Twp, Mercer Co., Pa. He died at age 57 and would be 87 now. There was no obiturary. The Coleman Funeral Home handled the burial. It has moved from Stoneboro but I can give you the address of Harold Coleman who now has two other funeral homes--in Crawford County. If you wish, I'll make note of the dates of birth and deaths of Bob and wife. I stop by that cemetery frequently as it is a few country miles from my home. The following obituary is of Ralph E. McWhirter. As you can see he was buried a week ago. He and wife Helen and family were also good friends. He was a brother of Robert Clark McWhirter. RALPH E. McWHIRTER, Hempfield Twp., formerly of 495 Coolspring Twp. died a 9:04 a.m. in White -Cliff Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness. He was 91. Mr. McWhirter was born March 15, 1908, in Lawanock Twp. to William S. and Margaret Hassel McWhirter. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Campbell, whom he married May 24, 1929; two daughters, Helen Ruth Black, Greenville; Mrs. William (Joanne) Swartz, Coolspring Twp.; a son, Richard, Las Vegas; a sister Mildred Nottingham, Grove City; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by six sisters and five brothers. Burial in Millbank Cemetery, Fairview Twp., Mercer County. Arrangements by Cunningham Funeral Home, Mercer, Pa. I skipped the lengthy parts about work and church affilations but if interested, I'll mail the clipping to you. I expect to visit Ralph's widow within the week so if this is your family, e-mail me and I'll put you in touch with the remaining family. I know Rlaph's widow, Helen, would be able to give you the facts as she is a bit of a family historian.
