Hello Mercer County people! I'm writing from Youngstown, Ohio and I'm looking for info on one of my husband's lines who came to this area from Greenville, PA in the late 1800's. I'm hoping someone can point me the way to either some info or sources of info in that area. I haven't worked in PA at all yet, so I'd appreciate all the help I can get. The people I'm looking for are: Henry R. Kirkner, born August 23, 1867 in Greenville. He died June 13, 1928 in Youngtown. His death cert for parents names and places of birth says unknown. His wife was Mary A. Smith born August 23, 1873 in Wales, d/o Bryan Smith and Ellen Dowd, she died in Youngstown February 5, 1918. Now, I suspect Henry's parents *may* have been a Reuben B. Kirkner and Margaret Rubert, both born in Germany. I suspect this because there was a William Kirkner who died here, also born in Greenville, who lived and is buried near my Henry, and I suspect they are brothers, and those are the parents named on William's death cert. (Not proof, to be sure, I know, but at least it gives me a lead). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Happy hunting!
