    3. Becky, It just dawned on me that there are two Hell's Hollows in Mercer Co. that I know of. Perhaps you were referring to the one a couple of miles out of Mercer on Route 62 going toward Sharon and turn left and down the hill into Hell's Hollow. The one I was referring to is off Route 58 out of Mercer going toward Greenville in the little village of Hamburg (or New Hamburg--I can never remember which). You might have been correct about the headless horseman. If that isn't enough to boggle your mind, how about Hell's Kitchen off Route 965 just over the Mercer Co. line into Venango Co. Sorry, I can't dredge up any stories but I'll bet there are some. National Fuel Gas has had their business down there in the hollow as long as I can remember. Great deer hunting area. I never did find out why it is called Hell's Kitchen. The first word I can understand but I don't get the significance of the Kitchen. Wouldn't it be fun if someone sees this and can enlighten us?
