A land grant was supposedly given to my gggggrandfather Francis H. Hamilton after his fighting in the War of 1812. His years were 1766 to 1844. He married Ruth Williams and they had one daughter at least Jane Hamilton. He lost the land however through speculation and moved on the Ohio. This story of the land grant is just rumor. I have no cold hard facts. Would love some however. As to the question of how many subscribe to the list and if any still live in Mercer County, I would love to know as well. I am now in Texas, although grew up in Mercer, PA. It's funny that many of the names people mention on this list are last names of kids I went to school with from about 1968 to 1878. Ramsey being one of them. Just FYI.
