I am searching for information about Cassandra Speer who married John Frazer Richards. Through a previous posting, I now believe that Cassandra may have been related to Elizabeth Speer Buchanan, mother of President James Buchanan. It seems likely that this is the reason my great-grandfather was named James Buchanan Richards. I believe that both John and Cassandra were born in Allegheny County and eventually settled in Fayette County. I have read that Elizabeth Speer, the President's mother was from Mercer County and I haven't found information aout her in these areas yet.
