A few years ago the Youngstown Vindicator (Youngstown, OH) printed a series on localities in their reading vicinity. It was researched by their staff reporters. The description of this series was: "Our people gave interesting, even curious names to many localities. Some names are still in common use. Others aren't well known beyond the local gentry. And some have faded away, lost in the natural evolution of change. In this Sunday series, we spotlight some of these names and the communities behind them." This series went on for over 3 years. Collector that I am, I saved them, copied them and made myself a booklet. I have 179 of them. The localities are in Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull Counties in Ohio and Mercer, Lawrence and perhaps Crawford County, PA. (I may have missed a couple, a couple of times I had to write the Vindicator for one.) I wrote them to ask if they were going to consolidate them all into one book, as far as I know, they didn't.
