STEWART served Union in Civil War, unit and rank unknown, wounded, held in Andersonville prison. He m. Oct 13, 1864 to Ruth Caroline EMERY, b. Jul 21, 1841 in Mercer Co. Have found Ruth C. and her parents, Jacob and Jane (HUMPHREY) EMERY, in 1850 census in Hickory Twp. Date of move to Mercer Co. by Jacob and Jane unknown. Both buried Clarksville Cemetery.
