Thanks to Tom Felt <tom_felt@compuserve.com>, we now have an 1850 history of the founding days of Mercer Co. now online at the web site. It is in the County Histories section. The title of this 18-page history is "Remarks and General Observations on Mercer County, Pennsylvania. By B. Stokely, the First Actual Resident Settler in the County." It first appeared in an 1850 volume of the "Memoirs of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania." It is an interesting piece, recounting the days of the first white settlement of Mercer County in the 1790s (before the formation of the county) and the early 1800s. Tom has indicated he plans on making other works of Mercer County history available for the web site. Thanks Tom!
