I have traced my Hayes family (with the help of many kind people, and newfound relatives) all the way back to Scotland! My grandfather used to live on S. Main St. in Greenville, and sold his house to his son, Ira Dale Hayes. So far as I know, his children, Sarah (Sally) and Dale (Butch) still live in Greenville. It turns out we are also related to Pres. Rutherford B. Hayes. But the search continues! Family stories have us descended from Kings of Scotland.
