First, I want to thank everyone who responded recently to my request about the availability of older vital statistics in PA. As I figured, I'm sort of out of luck. Now I have another question. I've been learned that my great great grandfather MICHAEL BRONDER and my great grandfather of the same name were coal miners. I know they worked in mines somewhere in Allegheny County, but there is also the possibility that for awhile at least one of them worked as a miner in Mercer County, probably in the Greenville area. Does anybody know about the coal industry in Mercer County, and if there are any websites regarding mines in PA. ALso, would the UMW have records (but I believe the Bronders pre-dated the union.) Thanks. Marley Greiner Researching: BRONDER, FLECKENSTEIN, LOEW (Pennsuylvania) Granecome, Shearstone, Lawrance, Somerset County, Eng.
