    1. releasing the census earlier
    2. Hi everybody! There are all kinds of petitions out there to do all kinds of things. Why don´t we start a petition to try to get the 72 year wait for U.S. census releases changed to 50 years? I have seen several times as of late that genealogy is the biggest hobby in the United States now. If we pulled all of our resources together and got a massive petition together, maybe the government would consider rolling back the long wait. I think it is certainly worth the try. Isn't half a century a long enough wait? If anybody has any experience in creating an online census, please drop me a line. Hope to hear from you! Take care, Russ Lentz _RussDLentz@aol.com_ (mailto:RussDLentz@aol.com)

    3. I agree. 50 years is long enough to wait. I can understand privacy, but some people doing genealogy and wanting records on their family and other's won't be alive if they have to wait 72 years. It might help break through alot of brick walls too. Genealogy is a wonderful hobby and is growing larger everyday in the U. S. Let us see what's out there. ----- Original Message ----- From: <RussDLentz@aol.com> To: <PAMERCER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 22, 2005 7:30 PM Subject: [PAMERCER] releasing the census earlier > Hi everybody! > > There are all kinds of petitions out there to do all kinds of things.
