So, now for the ROLL CALL. Put the SURNAMES of your ancestors - or whomever you are researching in the subject line of the email. Like this: WASHINGTON - ADAMS - JEFFERSON - MADISON And, what ever additional info in the body copy of the email - what time frame, which part of Mercer County, their first names - whatever info you think will help you make a connection. I am researching William Alexander and Agnes Black Alexander, also her father, first name unknown. William and Agnes arrived in 1826 and her father in (first name appears Thomas, wife Agnes) who came in 1828 with six children. His wife and an infant died on the trip on the way over. I've identified some of the other children as Elizabeth, Jane and Mary and at least three boys, first names unknown as well as two other children, sex and names unknown. Some of the family ended up in Cincinnati, southwest Ohio and Indiana married to Samuel (Elizabeth BLACK) FISHER of Indiana and Gilbert (Jane BLACK) CHURCHILL of Eaton, Ohio. I descend from an Adam Black Chambers (1808-1854), b. in Mercer Co to John and Betsy Black Chambers. She was a dau of Adam and Polly Allegan Black, who are mentioned in the larger Mercer Co history that was reprinted some years ago as around Blacksburg or whatever the village was called. A. B. Chambers came to MO and became editor of the 'Missouri Republican' in St. Louis besides being quite an adverturer in the early West. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
