We are descendents of Michael LATSCH, b. 1801 in Herdorf, Germany and Johannes HOLZER, b. 1794. Johann Michael LATSCH, b. 11 Mar 1830 in Wetzlar, Germany; married Catharina Margaretha HOLZER, b. 13 Dec. 1827 in Dudweiler, Saarbrucken, Germany. Michael Matthias LATSCH, b. 12 Jun 1864 in Dudweiler, Saarbrucken, Germany; married Irene Martha TREAT on 29 Sep. 1889 in Summit County, Ohio; d. 7 Sep. 1942 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio. See "Germans to America, Lists Passengers Arriving in U.S. Ports", Volume 40, August 1881 - October 1881. Page 379 lists the following LATSCHes, Gabriel, John, Michael and Mary departing Antwerp, Nederland (Holland) and arriving in New York 24 October 1881. Other of our ancestral lines include: HOLZER, HOLZMUNDER and RETTENWALD. These records and more are on file at Family History Library of the LDS Church in Salt Lake City, Utah and accessed through local LDS Family History Centers. Often names have several similar spellings; could this be a distant relative? See attached.
