If at all possible, I would allow myself more time at the courthouse. They may have to retrieve information for you from other areas in the courthouse or scan microfilm. It would be better than being disapointed after your long trip. There is also the Mercer County Historical Society bldg across the street with many resourses you would find interesting. Altho this is the county seat, it is a small town and not far from I-79/I-80. >From: [email protected] >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: [PAMERCER] question on courthouse >Date: Thu, 1 May 2003 23:08:01 EDT > >Hi all, > I'm flying in from Vegas in July for the sole purpose of finding >immigration papers on my ancesters. I have always found the Mercer County Historical Society very helpful. Here is a link to their page: http://www.mchspa.org/ if you call them or write to them for a fee they will search their records for you, it may be helpful to have this done before you come. THey may also have some very helpful tips or an index to where you can find things at the courthouse. It never hurts to ask.
