Hi, I never list my full name, mailing address, nor my phone number on-line. My phone number is unlisted with the phone company. However, a few people I have swapped information with privately, have taken it upon themseleves to use my full name and address as a source on their web site without asking me if that was ok. Although, I appreciate the fact that they used sources- it was not something that I expected to see on the internet. I think it is in everyone's best interest to ask permission before posting someone else's personal information on the internet. Even my 5 year old son's name and birthdate is listed on someone's web site, against my wishes. Every message we send on a genealogy list and every post that we make on a forum is there for the whole world to see, like it or not.
