    1. [PAMERCER] Questions on Naturalization papers..

    3. The Lawrence County Courthouse should have the Letter of Intent filed with the Naturalization Paper. It could be if you did not specifically request both they would just send you the one? I live in Butler County and the ones I've looked up have had all the papers together. A person could file their Intent papers in any county in PA and be naturalized in a different county. In that case, Lawrence County would not have the Intent Papers. Also the father was the only one naturalized in the family in that time period. I don't know the exact date when that practice changed though. As for a death record not being recorded in 1902, unfortunately that was not an uncommon happening. People were supposed to report these things to the courthouse, but did not always do it. There is also the possibility that your ancestor lived near a county line and someone reported it, in error, at the adjoining county's courthouse? Pat www.rootsweb.com/~pabutle2
