He is quadruple armed with a drawn saber a colt army a bowie knife and a rare gun. Alexander died at Andersonville Confederate Prison in Georgia and his information is listed below.Alexander James Residence Mercer County PA; Enlisted on 10/17/1861 as a Private.On 10/17/1861 he mustered into "I" Co. PA 4th Cavalry He died a POW (date not stated) at Andersonville, GA He was listed as: * POW (date and place not stated) (Buried at Andersonville National Cemetery.)The 4th Pennsylvania Cavalry was engaged at Antietam and Gettysburg. This is an untouched album and most of the photographs have backmarks from Allegheny and neighboring areas. Which is next to Mercer County and the 4th Pennsylvania Cavalry was raised in Pittsburgh. Alexander’s siblings are identified as well.
