    3. Hi Steve We are related through the McClintocks. I checked the Index of a book that I have and it says that the lumber for the first courthouse was "probably sawn in a primitive mill operated by John Uber, one of four brothers who settled in what is now Liberty Township in 1797". There is a reference to an "Alfred Uber, a prosperous farmer". Also a Nelson Uber of Springfield, "a mater builder". There are no references to the Careys. I'm in the process of checking the will and cemetery indexes for you. She married Nathaniel Carey and they resided in Mercer County, PA. My information indicates she was the daughter of John H. Uber (1803-?) and Elizabeth Rodgers (1805-?). Further John H. Uber is shown as the son of John Uber (b. 1775) and Catherine Harrold. John is shown as the son of the immigrant, Peter Uber who originally settled in Westmoreland County, PA. In reviewing a Uber family history posted on the Mercer County genweb page, John is listed as the son of Peter. However, there is no mention of John H. being one of John's children. Can anyone confirm who the children of John Uber and Catherine Harrold were? Does anyone else have information about Nathaniel Carey and Mary Elizabeth Uber? Thanks in advance!
