I have a Gevin Family in Crawford, Co. Peter Gevin (Pierrie Chauvin) a French Revolutionary War Solider with wife and family from Berks Co, PA arrived in what is now Vernon Twp in 1803. The Chauvin (That's as close as I can get to the original spelling.) has been spelled so many different ways that Garvin could be a variant.
