Dear Joan, I have Robert Fisher and Maude Stoops in my Bestwick family database. How can I help you? I'd have to check, but off hand I think a Thomas or Samuel Fisher married Ann Bestwick and that's where the Fisher line joins mine. On the bestwick line can go back about four or five more generations and on Ann bestwick's mother's line Clulow back about the same amount of generations. I have about four genrations from Robert and Maude Fisher. Let me know what you're looking for and I'll check and see what I have. Lesta

Esther, The only ones with a POLLEY surname I can see are headstones from another state. Will check for sure when I return home after the holidays. Some of the photos on the site were not showing up in the index or the search. Hopefully, that is fixed now. We moved the site to a different server a few months ago and have experienced some interesting problems. Have a nice holiday. All are listed as having been born in PA with Mary listing her parents place of birth as Ohio. Mary & John's youngest child was recorded at birth with the name Roy Gibson CALVIN, so I'm not sure where William Roy came from in the census records. Mary SIMPKINS father appears to have been Peter F. SIMPKINS the son of Peter SIMPKINS and Cynthia ACHESON. Mary's parents were recorded in the 1880 census living in West Salem, PA along with four children, George age 24 (George died in 1917), Almon age 22, Perry age 20, and Florence age 15 and in addition a grandson, Eddie age 1. Mary's Mother Emily DILLEY was born in OH, but her parents were born in NJ. I believe that Emily's parents were Joseph DILLEY Sr. and Mary BURNETT. Mary's oldest sister, Juliaett appears to have married George Wallace KARR and died in 1929 in Vernon, OH. Mary's brother William E. SIMPKINS and his wife Lucinda FELL were also living in West Salem, PA during the 1880 census, though they had no children. Brother Joseph and wife Ruth Elizabeth TERRY were also living in West Salem with 4 children, Lilly B. age 11, Howard age 7, Eva M. age 6, and Clarance age 2. Joseph died in 1926. Another brother, Linus David SIMPKINS and his wife Georgianna FELL were included in the 1880 census of West Salem, PA with no children as well. It appears that their first child was Linus Leroy SIMPKINS b. 27 Jun 1881 at West Salem, PA. Linus died in 1931. Not sure how Robert SIMPKINS of Youngstown, OH was related, however, I do find Robert & Damaris SIMPKINS with daughter Edna age 13, and Harry age 10 living in Youngstown, OH during the 1880 census. Robert & Damaris are listed as age 45 and 43 respectively, both born in PA to parents born in PA, their oldest is b. in OH and the youngest in PA. I believe that Robert is the son of Enoch SIMPKINS and Mary NEELY and that his wife Damaris' maiden name was WOODS. Not sure which of the CALVIN girls (Minnie or Dove) married into the MCDOWELL Family but I do find Social Security records for both Lyle and Robert MCDOWELL. Lyle's SS# was issued in PA and he died in Crawford County, PA on 29 Feb 1988. Robert's SS# was issued in Michigan and he died at Sharon, PA in May 1971. I'm hoping to be able to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
