Hi everybody! There are all kinds of petitions out there to do all kinds of things. Why don“t we start a petition to try to get the 72 year wait for U.S. census releases changed to 50 years? I have seen several times as of late that genealogy is the biggest hobby in the United States now. If we pulled all of our resources together and got a massive petition together, maybe the government would consider rolling back the long wait. I think it is certainly worth the try. Isn't half a century a long enough wait? If anybody has any experience in creating an online census, please drop me a line. Hope to hear from you! Take care, Russ Lentz _RussDLentz@aol.com_ (mailto:RussDLentz@aol.com)

I've "rescued" an old marriage certificate including photograph of the bride and groom which originally belonged to Wilson ADAMS of Heath, Pennsylvania and Olive HOOVER of Millstone, Pennsylvania. The couple was married in Springcreek, PA on the 22nd of August 1875. Olive's photograph was taken in 1872 at the Frank Robbins Studio in Oil City, PA with Olive appearing to be in her teens at the time. The photograph of Wilson is a tin type photograph probably taken in the 1860's or 1870's with Wilson looking to be in his 20's or 30's at the time. Based on limited research I find Olive HOOVER b. in Mercer Co., PA to parents Isiah HOOVER and Mary SCRIBNER. I also find J.W. & Olive ADAMS living in Allegheny, PA during the 1880 census. In 1880 the ADAMS household included, J.W. (wondering if he is actually John Wilson ADAMS) age 24, Olive age 22, sons John age 4, and George age 1, and Matilda ADAMS age 54, J.W.'s Mother. All were born in PA to parents born in PA. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
Shirley, somewhere I have pictures of the Deeter School. My father attended there in the mid '30s, having grown up on Mercer Avenue, and my great-grandmother lived around the corner on School Street. The school still stood when I was a very small child. I'll try to dig up the pictures. Hi! I am looking for my Sporey/Gilliland cousins from Mercer County. My name is Russell Lentz. I am the great-grandson of Marshall Steven Lentz, who was the brother of Alice Virginia Lentz. If anybody knows their whereabouts, the whereabouts of their children or anything else about them, I would sure appreciate you dropping me a line. You are welcome to pass on this e-mail to them, if you know them. I have quite a lenghty family tree that I would like to share with them, and I would like to update their information. Plus it would be nice to meet my long lost cousins. My e-mail address is _RussDLentz@aol.com_ (mailto:RussDLentz@aol.com) . Take care, Russ Lentz Tallahassee, Florida
Wow......... Thanks for the website whoever you are. I will have to take some time to study it and see if they will answer my questions. Karen
Check out: www.Sharon-Herald.com/local for information about the Herald.
Hi Kim, I noticed with interest your having an 1888 Mercer County Atlas. My great grandfather, Daniel Bruner, was a business owner (woolen mill) and early settler of New Lebanon, Mill Creek Township. I have read information of earlier publications, but was wondering if he is in the 1888 Atlas. He died in 1892. Would appreciate it if you could look up his name. I do have some pages from the 1909 version which has information on some of his children and grandchildren. Thank you. Jane
Hi Karen: Yes there is still a Sharon Herald. I will look in my CD of 1888 Mercer Co History for these men. If I find anything I will let you know.
