Please read this information on the President's plan to eliminate the National Historical Publications & Records Commission. Thanks, Carrol Mick carrolmick@yahoo.com http://www.savearchives.org/ This archival heritage is at risk. The president's proposed budget for FY 2006 eliminates the National Historical Publications & Records Commission (NHPRC), the only grant-making body in the federal government with a focus on archives. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), NHPRC's parent agency, will also be challenged to meet demands in other important areas. What kinds of projects are at risk? What can you do to help save NHPRC? Submit public testimony from your institution or association to the House Subcommittee that will hold hearings on April 26. 3. Dear Esther, Thanks so much for writing. It sounds as if many of the same families would be of interest to both of us. This is exciting. Lets do exchange information!! Would you please send me your direct line descendancy from any and/or all of the families you mention? I would be delighted to know more about each of the Clark, Reeger/ Reeher and the Christley lines since all of them intermarried with the Uber's. I would be delighted to learn more about any and/or all of these lines. I do hope we can exchange information. Also please send me your telephone number and mailing address. I tried to send this directly to you, Esther with an attachment of the first 4 generations of our Uber family as I now have them which are some 11 pages. The database from which this static descendancy chart was made is a work in progress and as such is subject to addition, correction, and/or deletion at any time we find information that requires it. I do have many Clark's but the Uber intermarriages I have took place more recently then the time period this descendancy chart covers. I also have one each Reeger (Kenneth J. Reeger) recent (probably living - no date) & Reeher (Susan S. Reeher abt 1858 who married Curtis Wingard a Uber/McDonald descendant.) I can also make an alphabetical chart of each of the families (Christley, Clark, Reeger/ Reeher) showing all the individuals of each surname which are now in my database to exchange for same from you if that would be of assistance. My direct McDonald/Uber line descendancy is as follows: 1. Johannes Peter and/or Georg Uber 1730-1809 + Anna Maria Ziegler 1750-1820 2. Simon Uber 1768-1798 + Magdalena 'Molly?' Twiney 1770-1857 3. Mary Uber 1785-1849 + John McDonald 1783-1841 John's father was William and we know nothing about him! 4. Daniel McDonald 1814-1895 + Mary Stewart 1816-1878 5. Nancy Sloan McDonald 1842-1894 + Henry Jaquiss 1835-1874 6. my grandparents 7. my parents 8. Deborah Jaquiss - me Thanks for your interest.
