In the 1850 census in the James Moore household, the wife is not listed and the children are; Mary Moore 22, Merbey Moore 18, Isabel Moore 16 and Simeon 14. It is my belief that Isabel and Simeon are brother and sister. I met a woman on line named Nanci Hamilton who helped me straighten out my Alexander Porter from her man by the same name. I keep answering you to the list in hopes she will join in our conversation. I have no idea if your Simeon Hamilton is the same man as the one listed with James Moore, as Simeon Moore. I do know that my David Porter named one of his sons Hamilton. I am just as confused as you are now, sorry that I couldn't be of more help. Janice Eby Barbeau Washington State now, not Idaho

But it is a name that intrests me. Some of the same group I am tracking had that last name. I have 3 books of the historys of several families from the are of former Yugoslavia. (Serbia and Croatia) There are a couple of Bindas trees in these. I know there were Bindas' in some of the manifests. (from Bachka but heading to Patton, Pa) I'll take a look at these and see if there are any John/Ivan/ or Janko Bindas going to the US. Unfortuately, the surname I am seeking in Farrell, would be Mudri. And it would a woman's maiden name. I was simply struck by the names you were discussing with Bernie. I also took a look at some of your other postings and found some more similiarities: FYI father Mihajlo Malacko is the current priest in the town were my family is from, (Sid, Vojvodina Serbia). I saw you had another posting about the surname Malacko. May I ask where this part of your family is from?

Zelinda Hazen was born in PA in 1833 and married an (?Enoch?) Wood. She was apparently widowed before 1860 when she appears in the census back in her father's (Lemuel Hazen) household along with a daughter listed as Parenthe Wood, age 7. In all other information about the girl, including the 1870 census where mother and daughter are living a few households away from Lemuel, she goes by the name Hattie. Hattie (b. 1853, Mercer Co) apparently married a Baldwin and had one son before following her mother to Minnesota. No husband is referenced as widowed or divorced in any records I have, including her obituary. This son, Ben, immediately takes on the Linn surname of the second husband. He lived and died with that name in all censuses and death certificate -- never married and no children. I'm looking for any record on the two marriages, presumably both in western PA: Zelinda Hazen to ? Wood about 1851, and Perenthe/Hattie Wood to ? Baldwin about 1872 Any help would be appreciated.

    1. Death obit for Oliver Perry Kirby, d. Sept. 12, 1890, and wife
    2. joyce
    3. Wondering if anyone might be able to find a copy of an obituary for my g grandfather, Oliver Perry Kirby. B. abt 1822, in PA. He died, Sept. 12, 1890. He died in Fredonia, Fairview twp., Mercer Co. He married Hannah McCrossen abt 1849. She was b, 1825, in MA, or at sea, and died Apr. 24, 1878.in Fairview twp. Before she died, one daughter was married and moved to Jackson co., Iowa. Consequently, because Hannah died with young children, almost all of the children were in Jackson co., Iowa, when Oliver died, 12 yrs. later. They are buried in Oak Grove cemetery, Fairview twp. This couple is my brick wall. I know a lot about them, while they were alive, but nothing before they were married, nor do I know their parents. Have them on census from 1850-1890, and his will. Would appreciate any help, anyone can give. Thanks, Joyce
