    1. RE: [PAMERCER-L] SCHOOLS
    2. Diana Burns
    3. An excellent resource for any information on the Mercer County School System is Mae Beringer. Information about her is at: http://www.msc.cornell.edu/~weeds/SchoolPages/welcome.html the one room school house page. She is a treasure of knowledge about schools and teachers. The Caldwell one room school house museum is well worth a visit, if just to talk to her, not to mention the files with class pictures and school souveniers with lists of the students. ---------- From: WJankow477@aol.com[SMTP:WJankow477@aol.com] Sent: Sunday, February 08, 1998 9:49 PM To: PAMERCER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PAMERCER-L] SCHOOLS If someone was born on a farm near MIllbrook, Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County, Pa. in June of 1908, where would they have gone to school? 2. Lusk
    3. Can anyone comment on the for-fee genealogical research organization LINEAGES in Salt Lake City UT? Are they thorough in their search, given what information is available? What are their data bases? Are they accurate, or do they include data contributed by individuals which might be questionable? I assume that this would depend upon what data is requested. 2. Michael L. Hebert
    3. Joe wanted me to pass a long a Big Thank You to all who responded to his message regarding the marriage transcriptions. He was very pleased to see the great response. He will probably assign the transcription project on a first-come first-serve basis. If anyone has any Mercer County material on hand that they would like to transcribe, please contact me and we can work on getting it online. Richard Winder is doing a great job with the 1850 census. I would like to get some of the pre-1850 censuses online. Biographies from some of the old county histories would be nice also. If there is anything you think you can contribute, don't hesitate to give me a yell. 3. As listowner, I just wanted to make it clear that I had nothing to do with the posting of the "Local Authors" message, that I don't know anything about Laura Dearlove and Arcadia Publishing, and thus I cannot vouch for them. To date, we have published 15 Pennsylvania titles in our Images of America series and are currently looking for local historians to author a new book. High quality book production, extensive sales, and distribution are organized by Arcadia entirely at the company's own expense. Authors are paid royalties on all sales.
