She had DeCamp relatives there specifically George DeCamp. David & Susannah had several children who I do have info on. I'm looking for information on any records for the Good Hope Cemetery in West Salem Twp, Mercer County. Johann Jacob Christman (my line) and his two wives are buried there. I have been to the cemetery, but am trying to wrap up some loose ends, and determine whether there are more descendants from this line. Their story is a little convoluted, his wives being sisters. This is the best I can piece it together: Susanna Vogeli was born 5 aug 1784 probably Lehigh Co, PA, and died 29 mar 1847, in Mercer Co, PA. Sarah Vogeli was born 29 may 1792 in Macungie, Lehigh Co, PA, died 9 apr 1862, Mercer Co, PA. Susanna married Johann Jacob Christman on 14 Oct 1803 in Longswamp Church, Weissenberg Twp, Lehigh Co, PA. Sarah married Johann Jacob's brother Johann George Christman, probably around 1810. Jacob and Susanna subsequently moved to West Salem Twp, Mercer Co, PA along with several other families from that area of Lehigh Co. George died 12 dec 1840 in Lower Macungie Twp, Lehigh Co, PA. Susanna died 29 Mar 1847 in Mercer Co. Sarah (George's widow) married Jacob (Susanna's widower). Sarah died 9 apr 1862 in Mercer Co, and Jacob died the next month, 22 May 1862. All three are interred in Good Hope Cemetery, West Salem Twp, Mercer Co, PA, Jacob between Sarah and Susanna. The headstones are in German script. Doug Hill ccapdh@worldnet.att.net

Hi all, My gg-grandfather, John Aley, was a farmer in Mill Creek TWP of Mercer County. He appears on the 1850 and 1860 censuses, but not on the 1870 census. He would have been about 65 years old at the time of the 1860 census. His wife Juliette (sp? - different spellings by different enumerators) (Anderson) Aley lived on in Mill Creek TWP. She appears in the 1880 census and would have been about 70 years old at that time. I am seeking suggestions on where they might be buried and where I might try to find burial/death certificates, wills and land ownership and probate records for that time and place. Hi Dee. You might be connected with my MANN/WOODS /PATTON line. I sure wish you could straighten me out as we have a question which of the Patton daughters married Robert MANN. Here's what I have: Thomas PATTON According to letter from Robert Mann Woods dated 9-8-1911, the Patton's came from Cecil County, Maryland. Thomas Patton was a leading man in the community--sheriff etc. He had three daughters, the most highly educated & accomplished girls: Sarah Lyon Patton.....married Robert Mann Mary Patton................married unknown Christy Jane Patton................married Thomas Anderson The above that states Sarah married Robert Mann is not borne out by the records in the WOODS family bible, by letter dated 10-14-1920 from Arda St. Clair Rorison to Walter L. Anderson, Lincoln, NE, nor the gravestones in Greenville,Mercer,PA. ..Robert MANN has a very beautiful monument in Greenville,PA and it is decorated with the Star and Flag of a soldier. His inscription reads: Robert Mann, b12-25-1783, d03-22-1853, aged 69 yrs, 2 ms, 25 da. Next to him is a plain stone with: In memory of Mary, Wife of Robert Mann who died 08-22-1831, aged 49 yrs. Their son James is buried on the other side. Capt. Robert MANN's record in the War of 1812 is in the History of Mercer Co.,PA, by J.G. White, Chicago, IL, 1909, Vol. 1, p 178. It is noted that MANN, LYON, WOODS, and McLAUGHLIN participated in organization f Presbyterian Church of West Greenville, Mercer Co, PA, 1825. >From the files of William Robert Woods, Jan.1935, Pine Ridge, SD: Robert Mann grew up near Wilmington. I am searching for information about Cassandra Speer who married John Frazer Richards. Through a previous posting, I now believe that Cassandra may have been related to Elizabeth Speer Buchanan, mother of President James Buchanan. It seems likely that this is the reason my great-grandfather was named James Buchanan Richards. I believe that both John and Cassandra were born in Allegheny County and eventually settled in Fayette County. The river that runs through Jamestown is the Shenango River which feeds into the Pymatuning Resevoir which is located in Jamestown and the Shenango River also feeds into the Shenango Lake further south in Mercer County. Thank you Becky, Sorry, my map must have something wrong with it, as I show a Jamestown located in the very north edge of Mercer Co,PA, being at the intersection of Hwys 322 and 58, and this map also shows a river running thru the area, from the Pymatuning Reservior, (name of river not labeled on my map). Can someone tell me: if this Jamestown is not located in Mercer Co, then is it supposed to be in Crawford County,PA??? On my map it appears to be inside the Mercer County boundary. Our family record says that a marriage occurred in or near Jamestown, Mercer County,PA. I am trying to determine if I can locate a copy of this marriage record.
