We don't know much about the Law name, except they came from southeastern New York down into Pennsylvania. Family members say they originated in Scotland, I found the name of Law in Scotland and I checked into England and they sent me to the England/Scotland border. I would be very interested to hear about your Laws'. We have received mail in the past spelled Lau, never knew it was a spelling of Law, I thought it was a error. Would love to talk to you about Heinrich Richael. Karen Patterson
I've found a gold mine of information on the family of Ludwig Reigel. It seems Ludwig had a son named Heinrich, who married a lady named Elizabetha. Heinrich and Elizabetha had 10 children baptized at St. Jacob's Stone Lutheran Church in York Co.. Check out the spellings of their last names: Reigel, Elizabetha Reichel, Heinrich Reichel, Margaretha this is my ggg-grandmother Reichel, Catharina Reigel, Johan Jacob Reigel, Johannes Reichel, Michael, Reichel, Johann Jost Reichel, Georg Reichel, Johann Philip All these different spellings in the same family at the same church. All records I've found on Ludwig his name is spelled Reigel. Ludwig was the son of Johan Adam Reigel, b 9 May 1696 in Becherbach, Germany Johan Adam apparent came over in 1750. It never ceased to amaze me about the spelling of last names. Heinrich/Henry is on the Mercer census as Rickel. I found one record in York Co. spelled Riggle. No wonder genealogy is so hard. It took me YEARS of researching the Urey family until I discovered the original spelling was Ory, then everything fell in place. Karen Patterson

What a great web site. I've been enjoying MercerPA for quite a while and need to have someone help me gather information about Henry Yonker who married Hannah Beckstein/Beckstine in Greenville, PA, in 1845. I have some information to share also. Thank you, C. Yonker
