I got all the recent information on Turners, but they don't seem to be mine. My Turners lived in the Slippery Rock area of Mercer Co. There was a Henderson Turner, and a Wm Turner who appeared there in 1810. Henderson was over 45 and died soon after. His son Wm.lived until 1833. He had lots of children born from 1800 on. They were Henderson, Robert, John, George, Elizabeth, Margaret, William, Mary. His son John Turner married Emily Bruce about 1809 in Mercer. Their children were Sarah, Wm. Miriam, Hiram, Margaret, Mary J. Elizabeth Robert, George, Olive. BUT where were these Turners before coming to Mercer? Dorothea Wallace Silbert
There has been a lot of recent attention paid to Clarks in Mercer Co., so I will weigh in with my own set of them in hopes I might press earlier than 1811 in your county. To you and Amy, The Clark and Turner families are definately connected here through Rachael Clark and Esben Turner, but too far back. I'm looking for a more recent connection. I'm trying to make a connection between ELSIE TURNER who married GILES CLARK who had a Grist Mill at Clarks Mills, Mercer Co, PA AND ALEXANDER TURNER b. 1827 who married LOUSIA EMILY POWELL I'm sure there must be a connection here because my father RAYMOND H. BELL , who was Alexanders' Great-Grandson, was found in the early 1940's to be the last male heir found to receive the millstones from the Clark's Mills Grist Mill. "...someday I'll find it.. the rainbow connection... the lover's, the dreamers, and me." LOL Pat

I am looking for a connection to the surname Clark. My line of BEGGS have used Clark as a middle name for several of their children. They were in Mercer county in the early 1800's until 1857. Does anyone have any ideas how they may be related? Using a mother's maiden name was common as a middle name for her children in those days.
