Hello again, One correction on the spelling of the cemetery - it is Delaware Cemetery. Sorry about that. Again the headstones I'm interested in obtaining a photograph of are: Hattie Shontz Keck 1887-1971 Elizabeth B. Shontz 1859-1936 Milton H. Stontz 1861-1908 Also, if you can only take a regular polaroid, you may send them to me that way if you don't mind. If you get them, please respond back and I'd be happy to give you my address. Also, should anyone be interested, I have a web site: www.angelfire.com/ia2/hgturner/gkchart1.htm which shows my pedigree chart. The Keck, Oliphant, Shontz and Boyer surnames show a scant amount of information of my ancestors. Should anyone have any comments on any of these roots, please respond. Thanks, Dave from Iowa.
Hello, About 1 year ago, someone was good enough to send me digital photos of 3 headstones at the Deleware Cemetery in Deleware, PA. I did not save them and lost them when my computer crashed. This memorial day should anyone be visiting the cemtery I'd sure appreciate a digital photo (jpg) of the following headstones. Hattie Shontz Keck 1887-1971 Elizabeth B. Shontz 1859-1936 Milton H. Stontz 1861-1908 I believe they are all located near one another. I appreciate anyones efforts. Thank you - Dave

Breakthrough on my William STROUD married in 1803 to Hannah FILLMAN in Montgomery Co., PA, who first lived in Norristown. He now has a full, double family. He and Hannah had: Elizabeth, daughter of William, md. Thomas J. WEBER Sept. 10, 1829. My ancestors, stayed in Mongtomery Co. Catherine, daughter of William, md. Christian DETTRA/DETTERE of Lower Providence Sept. 21, 1826. Hannah, married to Luther KENNEDY Dec. 1, 1838, both of Norristown. Not a proven daughter, but with the name, most likely. John, born in 1822, married Nancy BAKER, daughter of Abraham, probably in Mercer Co. after the family moved there. Hannah died after John's birth, and then William married Willimina KLINE December 12, 1826 still in Norristown. They are still there in 1830 census, but by 1840 have relocated to Mercer Co., PA. They are in Cool Spring in the 1850 census, and in Jackson in 1880. Willimina and William STROUD have daughter Anne born in 1827, and daughter Myra born in 1831. No further info. They then have son Joseph STROUD, 1833-1899. The two sons, John and Joseph, both have families in Mercer Co. John and Nancy Baker STROUD have Hannah b. 1844, William b. 1846, and Edward born 1858. William marries a Hattie, Edward marries a Sarah. Joseph STROUD 1833/1899 marries a Mary, buried in Mercer Co. as the rest of the above family members are, but in the 1880 census is in Venango County with children Henry, Elizabeth, Willimina, and Charles. I still need to know who William's parents are. If anyone relates to any of the above people, please contact me at [email protected] Best wishes, Gene in Gotha

The Wolf Creek Township landowners map from the 1873 Atlas of Mercer County is on line now at the Mercer County Genealogy site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~pamercer/PA Teri
Margaret, have you had a chance for the lookup? Jim
My grandmother is burried in one of the cemeteries there, Oak Hill i beleive. I'll ask my mom to dig through her paperwork and find which funeral home held the service. They probably know how to find the records. Give me a few days.....i'm 1000 miles away in Memphis -------Original Message------- From: Wilma Scott <[email protected]> Sent: 05/14/03 03:05 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [PAMERCER] Sandy Lake Cemeteries > > Helen - Main cemetery is Oak Hill, located about one mile south of the town of Sandy Lake in Sandy Lake Township. If you care to write for information, the address is Oak Hill Cemetery, PO Box 171, Sandy Lake, PA 16145. There are also two old cemeteries in the area. Yankee Hill, located near Oak Hill, and Rocky Spring, located about one mile north of the town of Sandy Lake. I do not know who holds the books for these cemeteries. Hello Fran I think you mean Stephen Morse's site. Check here: http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/EIDB/ellisjw.html Good luck Anna in MN
Hello fellow researchers.. Has anyone come across the website that was set up as a help to the original ellis island site to find missing links? Some of the ship lists are linked improperly and this fellow has a site to side step the missing links. I've lost the connection to it though...can anyone help me find it? Thanks, Fran Keller
Hettenbaugh was a common name in Mercer. A lot of families had their spelling changed by the census taker. Check the census for Springfield, Slippery Rock, and Wolf Creek. There are several Hettenbaugh's buried at Unity Baptist in Lawrence Co., also. Good luck Karen Patterson
My grandfather mother name was Clara Hallabaugh. She is buried in Conneaut, Ohio. 1859 - 1898 Hallabaugh is the spelling on her tombstone. She was married to Franklin D. Christman. Have not been able to find anything out about her. They lived in Greenville, (West Salem) Mercer Co., Pa. Franklin remarried to a Clara Diefenderfer. My grandfather name was Carl Raymond Christman, his brother was Harry Christman. Thank you for any help you can give me. Richard Jolly Akron, Ohio
The Diefenderfer name I may be able to help with. The spelling is different than mine but this has to be a relative. We had many relatives in Greenville, Akron, Sharon and surrounds. I attended Hickory High in Hermitage class of 55. I have over 13750 Diff's by many spelling in my tree. David W. Diffenderfer [email protected] P. O. Can we be related? My grandfather was William Isaac Hopkins, born in Pittsburgh. My father, James C. Hopkins. There were 13 offspring. My fat her was born in Leetsdale. I believe, but not certain that the family came from Maryland. My grandfather had a large farm in Bocktown, I hope I will find some contact with someone to lead me into the location of my grandfather's siblings. thanks, Jim

GREEN, Godfrey Green, b. Aug. 1818, m. Sarah LOCKWOOD and Daniel Green, b. Jun. 29, 1806 m. Mary LOCKWOOD, etc. Thanks for your interest. Joy
Jim: The name sounds German. It will be a lot easier to trace if it is. I think the early Presbyterians were scotch/irish. I will check my records tonight and see if I can locate him. I may have to go to the library because i don't think I have anything for Washington Township at home, but I will look anyway. Maybe he lived somewhere else before he moved to Washington Township. I am not familiar with the names of the cemeteries in Washington Township, but I can find out easily. I will get back to you.
