    1. [PAMERCER] ALEXANDER - BLACK
    2. Sally Young
    3. I am researching William Alexander and Agnes Black Alexander, also her father, first name unknown. William and Agnes arrived in 1826 and her father in (first name appears Thomas, wife Agnes) who came in 1828 with six children. His wife and an infant died on the trip on the way over. I've identified some of the other children as Elizabeth, Jane and Mary and at least three boys, first names unknown as well as two other children, sex and names unknown. Some of the family ended up in Cincinnati, southwest Ohio and Indiana married to Samuel (Elizabeth BLACK) FISHER of Indiana and Gilbert (Jane BLACK) CHURCHILL of Eaton, Ohio. 2. Pat
    3. Karen, If you go to ancestry, pick the 1900 census, then pick PA, then pick Mercer County. It brings up the list of townships. Since you don't see either Fairview township or Fredonia Borough in that list, pick the one that says OTHER TOWNSHIPS. When that page comes up, it lists all the other townships and boroughs in Mercer County. If you scroll down to District 133, you will see Fairview Township and Fredonia. Pat

    2. There is no Fairview on 1900. Now what? I hate this stuff being not indexed. They seem to be spending all their time on newspapers. Karen

I just found relative from Shenango Twp. listed in West Salem in error. 1. [PAMERCER] Maple Place - Sharpsville?
    2. KIM MACKLIN
    3. Hi all: I was wondering if anyone new if there is a Maple Place in Sharpsville? I was reading a diary of my gg grandmother and she talks about renting a house called Maple Place between the years of 1925 and around 1950. It may have been the home of her parents B.F. & Katherine Pauly who died around 1887. She was then left to raise her 5 brothers and sisters. Her father owned a grocery business in the early 1880's before his death. Thanks for any help. KIM

    3. Pat, The info is still there, we have just put the page up with a different format. I'm sorry you feel it has been a hassle. If you click on the button on the top that says Other, it will bring up the box that says other counties and links. Click in that white area and it will bring up a list of things, one of them the Mercer County births, deaths, marriages of 1852-54. when you click on that it will bring up the birth, death, marriage buttons for whichever item you want to see an index for. If you click on the far right button, that says ABOUT, it will bring up the explanation of these records as well as the film numbers. There are a total of 6 films in this series, numbered 1016403-1016408 If I'm not mistaken, Mercer county is on roll 1016406, but I"m not certain of that. The counties are on these rolls alphabetically. Pat www.rootsweb.com/~pabutle2

    1. Re: [PAMERCER] Re: Artman family
    2. Hi Linda, Wish I could help you but I am only researching Jacob Artman because he married my 3rd. g Aunt and I only located where they had move yesterday. She was a Burton from Illinois. I really don't have any Artman information but saw a lot of them on the 1880,1900 and 1910 census yesterday. I didn't write any of the information down since that wasn't the family I was looking for. Sorry about that. Good luck with your research and I will talk with you later. Roberta

    2. Linda's Mail
    3. Roberta, It is my husband's ARTMAN line that I am tracing. His gr. gr. gr. grandmother is Anna Artman married to Jacob Richards. I believe her mother was Catherine A. married to an ARTMAN. ANNA2 ARTMAN (UNKNOWN1) was born Abt. 1812 in PA, and died November 1870 in West Salem Twp., Mercer Co., PA. She married JACOB RICHARDS Abt. 1833 in PA. He was born September 18, 1804 in Westmoreland Co., PA, and died May 25, 1868 in Worth Twp., Mercer Co., PA. Anna & Jacob had 8 children - (two of whom also married ARTMANs - son, Abraham Richards m. Hannah ARTMAN and daughter, Elizabeth Richards m. John S. ARTMAN) My husband descends through their son Jacob A.Richards and his son James and James son, Albert ARTMAN Richards. As you can see I have very little ARTMAN information - I'm hoping to get more and get this line unraveled - I've been stuck here for quite a while! Any help will be greatly appreciated! Linda

    3. Good to hear from you. As you well know, my best intentions get lost in the shuffle----and I DO mean SHUFFLE! In addition, I lost much of my previous mail when my husband's laptop crashed about a year ago. I'll be glad to send you what I have, as soon as I find it and get it into the computer. I have some hand written records given to me by an Artman cousin several years ago, as well as some cemetery information, etc., and a few obits. Evelyn
