    3. George: My Stewarts in Mercer Co. begin with Thomas and James Guthrie. They were brothers. Their father, Charles Stewart migrated from Westmoreland Co. PA to Hubbard Ohio around 1811. Thomas and James G. Married sisters (Thomas/Esther Porter & James/Margaret Porter) Thomas and James came to Hickory Twp. around 1830. Thomas had 8 children: Samuel Porter, John Wright, James H., Margaret, Newel, Amanda Jane, Alexander, Ann E. James G. had 3 children: Linus M., William F., Emaline E. I have much more information if any of these are familiar to you. Two of Samuel Porter Stewarts sons married women named Stewart, different line. Their father's name was John C. Stewart, I think from Pymatuming Twp. Let me know if anything sounds familiar, I am happy to share any information I have. 3. I descend from an Adam Black Chambers (1808-1854), b. in Mercer Co to John and Betsy Black Chambers. She was a dau of Adam and Polly Allegan Black, who are mentioned in the larger Mercer Co history that was reprinted some years ago as around Blacksburg or whatever the village was called. A. B. Chambers came to MO and became editor of the 'Missouri Republican' in St. Louis besides being quite an adverturer in the early West. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
