    1. [PAMERCER] Silas, Jane, Adolphus, Lewis Thompson, 1843
    2. Jerry Thompson
    3. Greetings Mercer County Researchers, I am researching my gggrandfather, Silas Thompson. He resided in Mercer County at least in 1843 when his son Aldophus was born. According to Census records Silas Thompson was born in PA in 1823 (several census records and date on headstone). He was married to Jane Elizabeth Cook, daughter of Munsen Washington Cook and Margaret Harriet Hartle. According to census records Jane was born in New York. Several of her siblings and their families are buried in Warren County, PA. Silas and Jane had 5 children and adopted one other. Their children were: Adolphus Vanransaler b. Mercer Co. 1843 Lewis Young or Zachary b. PA 1845 Munsen Washington b. Indiana Lizzie b. 1851 Indiana (adopted) Birth name Eliza Hoover Margaret b. 1856 Indiana Lottie b. 1865 Indiana The date of birth and place for Adolphus are from his Civil War Pension file. Lewis' birth place is from census records. Unfortunately his pension file does not include a place of birth. I have searched the records at the PA State Library and State Archives to no avail. Does anyone have any connection to this family? Are there other records at the County not in the Archives? Thanks Jerry Thompson ============================================ All outgoing mail scanned by Norton Anti-Virus to ensure your safety!
