Dear George: To the best of my knowledge the school districts who fed students into the McKeesport Area High School but who had separate School Districts for their Elementary and Jr. High Students - and instead of vouchers we got tuition slips were: White Oak - Versailles Township School District: Jack's Run School - to best of my knowledge all attendees from there are now deceased but perhaps one or two are left. I have a picture of the last teacher at Jacks Run - Miss Christine Marks and Superintendents from Mrs. Opperman, Dr. Garwood, Leland Park DeWoody, Lawrence Byron being the last superintendent - there are the superintendents from the 1930's and 1940's that I'm missing. Bryn Mar - closed about 1960 Lincoln Greenwood White Oak Francis McClure. Other School Districts merged into McKeesport Area School District mandated by state law in 1960 were: Versailles Boro GreenOak-Boston Christy Park Port Vue Dravosburg Plus: All Schools in the City of McKeesport Proper: Teachers who I remember teaching at various schools but my memory fails to sort them all out but perhaps will jog some other peoples memories: Mrs. Manuel - 1st Grade Lincoln Mrs. Mellinger - 1st Grade Lincoln Mrs. Paul - 2nd Grade Lincoln Mrs. Boot - 3rd Grade Lincoln Mrs. Donnelly - 4th Grade Lincoln Mrs. Dawson - 5th Grade Greenwood Mrs. Boax - 6th Grade Greenwood Miss O'Toole - Lincoln Mrs. Kaltrider - math - White Oak and Francis McClure Miss Wire - science - White Oak and Francis McClure Miss Elster - music at all White Oak - Versailles Twp. Schools Mr. Mikoleij - Art - all Versailles Twp. Schools and Francis McClure Mrs. French - Librarian - Francis McClure Mr. Schraeder - History or English - Francis McClure Mr. Irwin - McKeesport Sr. High School and Francis McClure Jr. High School Mr. Evans - History - Francis McClure Mrs. Sable - 3rd grade Lincoln School, Reading - Francis McClure Mrs. Schulhoff - both a graduate of McKeesport High - class of 1926 and taught White Oak Mr. Clark - 7th and 8th grade History - Francis McClure Dr. Krysic - Band Director Miss Virginia Lemon - 1st Grade - White Oak, Sister of Grace Miss Grace Lemon - Geometry - MSHS - Sister of Virginia Grace Scott - Algebra, MSHS Jim Steel - teacher, principal and member of class of 1932 Alphretta Ripple - 2nd Grade - Lincoln - Niece of Martha Ripple Martha Ripple - 2nd Grade - Centennial - Aunt of Alphretta Ripple Miss Bowen - French - MSHS Mrs. Mansfield - 8th grade English - White Oak and Francis McClure; Mrs Mansfield was also Miss Judge to older students. Shelby Irwin Joe Lynch - father of Adam Lynch Helen Lynch - Librarian - MSHS - mother of Adam Lynch Wayne Mason Helen G. Malseed - class of 1926 and Speech & Debate Coach - best student was probably Hedda Bluestone Sherrapin producer of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. Thelma Mermelstein - sister of Dr. Mermelstein Carmelita Savage - Business Teacher also an MSHS alumna - I don't the year Coach Ding Schaefer - History and Coached Football - from Windber, PA Mr. Blankenship - English - MSHS - Thankfully was fired after one year Glenn Schriber - class of 1966 Dutch Shample George Stoll Food Service: Mrs. Cleona Stauffer - White Oak Mrs. Huber - Francis McClure Mrs. Minnick - MSHS I'm sure there were other cooks and service people in our cafeterias who would give out seconds or make sure that a "kiddo" didn't go hungry.
