Hi List: My father has "Prosvita Enlightenment, 611 Sinclair St., McKeesport, PA" on the bottom of the copy of his Baptism/Confirmation certificate from St. John The Baptist Greek Catholic Church. He obtained this copy to marry my mother in 1942. No one knew what it was or what it meant. I have just learned that "Prosvita, The Enlightenment" was a Ruthenian (Ukrainian) newspaper in Pittsburgh and in McKeesport. I don't know why it was on the copy of the certificate, or if it's still around, but the University of Minnesota has it microfilmed from 1917 - 1975 in their Immigration History Research Center. Maybe this will help someone and if anyone knows more about it I would appreciate their comments. Thanks. Nancy
