Having just found and joined the list I thought that I would send my surname searches in the McKeesport, Duquesne and Dravosburg area. My grandparents were: Henry Aloysius DITTMAN 1856-1942 married Mary RAAB 1862-1953. They lived in Duquesne and later in McKeesport where they died. Their children were: Amelia 1855-1957 married Rosario V. RENDINE and lived in Connellsville. Leo Henry 1887-1967 married Marie TIERNEY lived in Duquesne and Dravosburg Colette 1889-1990 married Frank ZEWE lived in McKeesport; he had a jewelry store on 5th Avenue. Henry 1890-1936 married Olivetta GROSS May have lived in both Duquesne and McKeesport Clarence 1893-1964 married Harriet FIRSTNER Lived in Duquesne Margaret 1895-1990 married Paul MADDEN Lived in Duquesne and McKeesport. He was a physician. Raphael 1896-1962 married Dorothy NORTON Lived in McKeesport and Dade Co., FL Jerome 1898-1953 married Rella Belle GROOMS Lived in Duquesne and West Mifflin. These are my parents. Adelbert 1901-1979 married Jean BERGMAN Lived in Duquesne Magdalene 1901-1981 married Lawrence WEBER Lived in McKeesport Adelbert and Magdalene were twins. Cyril 1904-1981 married Helen DUGAN Surnames related to the above are: LEGER, DONEY, STEWART, JULIAN, GOOD, THOMAS, ZACHERI, WILLS, JOHNSON, FLADING, BROWN, JANUSEK, HEIL, SKAGER, FRUECH, TEICHART, McNELIS, SAMIOS, McCULLOUGH, HANKS, MOFFATT, CASE, VALENTINE. I am also looking for descendants of: Jabez GROOMS married Hannah ARNFIELD. Jabez and Hannah at one time owned the property that now houses the bar/restaurant across from the former Bettis Airfield. They had the following children: John born 1875 Dessie born 1882; she was married to a QUINN and had a son named Grooms QUINN born abt 1904. She was last married to George STIVESON. Dessie and George lived in McKeesport./White Oak. Eliza Ruth born 1844 married twice, first unknown, second Walter Jacob DAVIS. They lived near Homestead. Jessie born 1887 Jabez born 1891-1964 lived and farmed in Ohio Sarah 1885-1980 married Arthur THOMAS They lived in New Lexington and Zanesville, Ohio. Mary 1895-1974 married Charles GUST They lived in McKessport/White Oak. Would like to hear from any related to or researching any of these surnames. I'll share what I have found to date.
