Hello, If anyone will be doing an obit lookup in the near future; would you consider doing one for me, also? The name is Elizabeth Lennon Andre, d. March 01, 1914, buried in the Mt Vernon Cem. Hi List, Can anyone tell me if Elizabeth had a newspaper in 1886. If so what was it called? Thanks Diane
In regard to the 1870 census for McKeesport & Braddock. You will find them on Roll 1299 Braddoock is on pages in the 660's range & McKeesport is on pages in the 500's range. If Dianna sees this please e-mail me with your address. I want to communicate with you. Regards, Ellen (ETHS) email: ellen@b-n-s.com Visit my web site: http://www.geocities.com/ellenj3
Dianna: I looked at the locality breakdown for the 1870 and I found also that Pitt Township, Wilkins Township and South Versailles Township were also missing. North Versailles is listed as having a McKeesport Post Office. So McKeesport may have been accidently been lumped in with North Versailles. McKeesport later annexed the Highland Grove area which appears on 1890 maps as part of NVT. NVT & SVT (the original SVT) were fairly new entities having been formed from their parent Versailles Twp. in 1869. Versailles Twp was one of the 7 original Allegheny County townships and was also the parent of McKeesport. South Versailles later split into two parts in the 1870s creating the current SVT and Versailles Twp. which later became Versailles & White Oak Boros. Braddock, I'm not sure of which one but most likely Wilkins Twp. must have been its parent, (although it could be Penn or Pitt Townships).. I found a number of other anomolies in this census with locational names. McKeesport and Braddock were never a part of Pgh., although Braddock is much closer to the city line. Hope this helps. I am looking for information on my family who lived in the Boston, Coultersville area about 18 60 to 1919. I just received the complete file on Issac and Hannah (Couchenour) Mains from NARA. It listed many names of people who were acquainted with this couple. However I am most interested in any information on Gust Lindholm who ran a boarding house for miners in that area. He married Maria Mains I would guess about 1876. If you think you can help me please e-mail me for further names and information too lengthly to give here. Thank you for your attention.
I am looking for the E.G.Sturgess Funeral Home? Any ideas? Is there a funeral home directory? Thanks, Pat pjm1169@bedford.net
Does anyone have access to a listing of McKeesport streets and the census wards in which they could be found? Thanks, Pat

My mom remembers them well. Nora was a cousin of my great grandfather. My mom spent a lot of time at their house as a child. She said Raymond had twins named Dee Dee and David. Cheryl Larson ( Larsonjr@aol.com)
