Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton. Mrs. English, 81, died Sunday (Oct. 31, 1993) in Good Samaritan Home, Quincy, Ill. The former Penelope Ward was a 1928 graduate of East High School and worked as a bookkeeper at Buffalo State College and the Federal Reserve Bank. She was born in Bradford, Pa., and moved to Buffalo as a child. A longtime member of St. Paul's Cathedral, Mrs. English was the first manager of St. Paul's Episcopal Thrift Shop on Main Street. She also was a member of the cathedral's Board of Women and was a volunteer in numerous church activities. In Quincy, she was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She was the widow of Joseph H. English. Survivors include a son, Michael R. of Quincy, and four grandchildren. (Condren).
