MECANKO A Mass of the Resurrection for Joseph P. Mecanko, a retired Bell Aerospace Textron employee, will be offered at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in St. Leo's Catholic Church, 2748 Military Road, Town of Niagara. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston. Mecanko, 78, died Tuesday (June 8, 1993) in his Reynolds Street home. He was born in Bradford, Pa., where he attended school, and graduated from Clearfield Aeronautical School. He was as a foreman at Bell in Wheatfield. Mecanko was a member of St. Leo's Church and the Lodge 41, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, in Lockport. His wife, Mary W. Reynolds Mecanko, died in 1992. Surviving are a brother, Michael of Lanhan, Md., and three sisters, Margaret Niergarth of Melbourne, Fla., Mary Ann Tanty of Bradford and Rosemarie Roney of Rockville, Md.
