A native of Bradford, Pa., and resident of Niagara Falls, Sister Bigosinski was a member of the Congregation of Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph and served as general minister from 1966 to 1970. Groundbreaking for Hilbert College, an institution founded by the Franciscan Sisters, was held during her term of office. A graduate of the old Mount St. Joseph College, now Medaille College, and the Catholic University of America, Sister Bigosinski was an elementary-school teacher and principal, a social worker and administrator. In the Buffalo Diocese, she taught at Corpus Christi School in Buffalo and St. Barnabas School in Depew. Sister Bigosinski was a social worker at St. Joseph Hospital in Cheektowaga and was an administrator at the former St. Anthony's Home for the Aged in the Town of Hamburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Convent Chapel, 5286 South Park Ave., Town of Hamburg. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
