I am researching the Kinney's in McKean County. The problem is their is more than one branch in the county. One branch consisting of people in the Marvindale, Kasson, Hazelhurst, and Clermont area (Hamlin Twp.). This would be Timothy and Sarah Milthorpe Kinney and their children, Louisa (William Dutcher no children), Caroline or Carrie (Andrew Perry and children), Alice F., William Morris (Maggie Block), Julia Elvira (Stone), Lucy E. William Morris Kinney's children are James, Elmer Ray (Alice Marie Sheldon), Lillian Mae (Patrick Joseph Foley, Sr.) Frank Edward (Margaret Magee), Charles W. and Alma M. (Burnell DuChanois). I descend from Lillian Mae Kinney and Patrick Joseph Foley, Sr.. But to my problem area...Their are Kinney's in the Port Allegany, Liberty and Annin Twps. I have a George Kinney, born 1846 married on 24 December 1877 to Rachel Rose Clark born 8 Apr 1858 daughter of Peter Thomas Clark and Eliza Jane EARLY. For both of them, this marriage is their second...At this point, I have no clue as to who George Kinney married first, but from his first marriage came son Luther J. with wife Hettie. From the census, Rachel Rose Clark's first husband's last name should be STODDARD because of a George Stoddard is listed as step-son to George Kinney. Together Rachel Rose and George Kinney had son Myrl or Merrill with wife Lottie and several children. Right next to George Kinney in the 1880 census is a Henry M. Kinney with wife Wealthy Simpson and children Miles and Geoffrey and nephew Charles. Are these two Kinney families related? And their are many more Kinney's in the Annin Twp., Liberty Twp., and Port Allegany area. Does anyone have anything that might help tie some more Kinney families together? Thanx in advance Becky Hakes
