A native of Bradford, Pa., Bob spent over 30 years as a stock broker with Merrill Lynch serving as an assistant vice-presidenf of the Akron office. He was a captain in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served on the Stewardship Committee. He was a graduate of Ohio State University, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He was a member of the Akron City Club, Fairlawn Country Club, past president of West Akron Kiwanis, past director of N.W.A. Hawks and was serving as an athletic committeeman for Ohio State. Above all, he was a devoted family man: loving husband to June Swing Porter for over 42 years, and father to Paula Porter Davis, Peggy Porter Wagner and Philip George Porter. He also leaves sons-in-law, Ralph Blaine Davis and Dr. Douglas Scott Wagner; and daughter-in-law, Lois Huber Porter; his cherished grandchildren, Paul Blaine and Blair Renee Davis, Molly Laine, Marnie Lynn and Douglas Charles Porter Wagner, and April Lynn Porter. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1250 W. Exchange St., with Dr. Paul F. Bauer officiating. Private interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 60 Bay St., Staten Island, NY 10301, or United Parkinson Foundation, 360 W.
