Can I offer an easy solution? If you are registered with Rootsweb, you can choose an option for each message board that notifies you of new postings. To do this, go to the McKean County Board's webpage after you have logged in to Rootsweb: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.mckean There will be an option near the top where you can "Add Board to Notifications." About once a day, if things are posted to the board, Rootsweb will send you ONE email with a list of the titles of all the postings for the day and links to each posting. This way, you can scroll down, see if anything is related to your research without having to click on a bunch of emails to delete each one. I have about fifty boards in my notifications list and receive one or two emails a day at most. It is much more efficient than belonging to fifty mailing lists! Note that by doing this, you will NOT get any information that is posted directly to the mailing list (which is why I do both). It only covers what is actually posted on the boards.
