Burial will be in the family plot in Maplehurst Cemetery. She died Thursday (Feb. 9, 1995) in Buffalo General Hospital, where she had been admitted Jan. 14. Mrs. Johnson, who was born in Bradford, Pa., was a member of a family of pioneer operators of the Bradford oil field. She traced her ancestors to Scotland and to the French Hugenots. Some of her ancestors fought in the American Revolution. Mrs. Johnson, a small woman who weighed 90 pounds, was active in Western New York real estate for many years and owned the Executive Tower for 22 years before selling it three years ago. She kept an apartment in the building until her death. She was a big booster for city living and had lived on Delaware Avenue for 35 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bird watching, playing with jigsaw puzzles and reading mystery novels, including books by Agatha Christie. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Richard Sr.; a daughter, Penelope Blount of Ashville, N.C.; a son, Richard Jr., creator of "Buffalo Burt" and a weekly contributor to The Buffalo News for 23 years; a sister, Kay Dresser Vogt of Meporium, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
