ZOOK, 79, WAS ASSISTANT CHIEF WITH IRS Dateline: MORGAN TOWNSHIP, OHIO Joseph M. Zook worked for more than 30 years for the Internal Revenue Service in Cleveland and retired in 1976 as assistant chief of the appellate division. He also taught accounting classes at Cuyahoga Community College and Case Western Reserve University. Mr. Zook, 79, of the Roaming Shores community in Morgan Township in Ashtabula County, died Monday at Madison Health Care Center in Madison. He was born in Bradford, Pa., and had lived in Cleveland Heights before moving to Ashtabula County 12 years ago. He helped elderly people with their taxes and tutored city children in math on Saturdays. He enjoyed fishing, boating, swimming, playing tennis and bowling. Mr. Zook is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary R.; sons, Michael J. of Willowick and Patrick J. of St. Cloud, Minn.; daughters, Anne M. Flaum of New Lyme Township, Kateri M. Wladyka of Jefferson, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and two sisters. Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3409 N. Main St., Rock Creek, Ohio. Arrangements are being handled by Fleming Funeral Home in Jefferson
