Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZaB.2ACE/1135.3 Message Board Post: June 2, 1883 Lieutenant F.W.Benteen with companies L and M. left for Fort Lewis Colorado returning to Fort Riley in October. 1884 a General Court Martial was appointed to meet at Fort Riley on the 11th of February, for the trail of such persons as might be brought before it. F.W. Benteen was one of men on the court. He was of the Ninth Cavalry. The Seventh U.S. Cavalry was organized at Fort Riley in the fall of 1866. At the time of it's organizing on the roll was one Captain F.W.Benteen. This all the Info I have hope it helps.
