Mr. Scott died after a long illness Thursday at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth. He was 87. The Bradford, Pa., native was hired by First National Bank of Dallas in 1948 in the trust department. He worked for the bank until 1970. After receiving his bachelor's degree in fine arts from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania in 1928, Mr. Scott received his law degree from Fordham University in 1939. He also received a doctorate in jurisprudence from Southern Methodist University. Following his retirement, Mr. Scott moved to Fort Worth and became involved in the preservation of Thistle Hill, one of the city's historic landmarks. His family is asking for memorials to be made to this organization. He is survived by his wife, Frances Merrill Scott of Fort Worth; a daughter, Aurease Bradshaw of Garland; a stepson, Dr. Berkeley S. Merrill of Fort Worth; and four grandchildren.
