I have in my records that she could have been buried 16 Dec 1891, but I am not sure where I got that, I believe from a distant cousin who is related to her also. So perhaps you could find an obituary? I could do Massachusetts research for you in return if you need any, but also will pay for postage and copies! I also have info that "Elizabeth J. VanGelder married Joseph Knowlton of Roulet Feb 3, 1868 in Coudersport" from a historian for Potter County PA from newspaper excerpts. Elizabeth's first husband (Ira VanGilder) died in the Civil War and then she have up her youngest daughter Amy who is my great-great grandmother, because she had no money. She had no proof of his death in the South and so she couldn't file for his pension. Amy was adopted by a family who had no children. This makes it all the more difficult for me since Amy was not raised by her mother. Elizabeth according to the 1850 census wa! s born in VA. That's basically all I know. I hope that you can help!

    2. Sheila
    3. I am wondering if an Emma Mosher could be Emeline TOY who married a Mosher? I have a picture of Emma Mosher and she is labeled an Aunt in my grandmother's album. She was from Derrick City. She had a daughter Mrs. W. A. Somers. I think the W.A.Somers was the wife of - Warren Allen Somers. I am researching the TOY family ..have you come across the TOY surname in your research. I think the Emma Mosher is somehow related to the TOY or Weldon family. I have this obit posted on the McKean site. Mrs. Ruby I. Somers, 77, of 151 E. Main St. died sunday morning inSt. Francis Hospital, Buffalo, N.Y., following a short illness. She was born June 4, 1896 in gilmore, and was a lifelong Bradford area resident. her husband, Warren A. Somers, died on Oct 5, 1969. She was a member of the Derrick City United Methodist Church, the WSCS of that church, Order of the Eastern Star, the White Shrine, American War Mothers, and the American Association of Retired Persons. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Emerson of West Valley, NY and Mrs. Opal Ottemiller of Seneca Falls, NY; a son Vern Somers of Williamsville, NY; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. another son, Allen Somers died July 4, 1971 Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm today in the Hollenbeck Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Richard D. Markle of the Derrick City United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery Source: Bradford Era Feb 19, 1973-page 2 ----------------------------------------------- I need to find out more about Emma Mosher from McKean County.
