I'm beginning to think my ancestors came from under rocks. I'm particularly interested in a William Joseph Baxter. He told the story for many years until his death that the Baxter name was actually an adopted name and I can't prove one way or other. He was born 10/11/1865 and married about 1888 and had nine children one of who was my grndfthr George Charles. His wife was Mary Bell/Marybelle or Minnie as all called her. Her obituary is listed on the Bradford Era Obituary Index on the McKean County Genealogy Site. However, she is buried at St, Bernards Cemetary in Bradford, although I believe one of her daughters, Marianne Elizabeth Holleran Campbell is buried at McKean Memorial Park. Her husband, William Henry Holleran, was born March 6, 1890 in Bradford and died Dec. 16, 1945 in Bradford. Jessie's parents were William Albert Schrock, born Feb. 10, 1857 at Punxatawney, Jefferson County, PA and died Feb. 20, 1937, and Elizabeth Kelsey, born May 10, 1857 at Porter, Jefferson County, PA and died August 20, 1902, but I am not certain of the place of death. I don't know if she is related to the Schrocks you are seeking, but I hope this helps.

Hello I am looking for information on Samuel Bengston. The name was changed to Benson. The lived in Mt Jewett and attened the Nebo Church . I belive he and his wife Elemina (Minnie) are buried there. Hi I was indeed wrong My mother always wrote it as Bengston I dug out a bible I recently got when my grandmother passed away and the last name is indeed Bengtson. Samuel Bengtson and Elemina Had three children that I know of. Carl Hilmer born usa 1900 at least I have been told he was born in usa. Ellen Willemina 1897 who died young .why I dont know. and Anna bernadine 1893 . In the federal census records of 1910 and 1920, he and his family are living in Keating Twp., McKean County,PA. They were originally from Michigan, and include wife Frances (born abt. 1859), two children, Harry D. (born abt. 1887) and Maud (born abt. 1894). John was born abt.1844. There were two more children, but I don't have their names. By 1930, I can't find John, Frances, or Maud (probably married). Harry is married to Margaret, and have two young daughters, Frances and Ann. Any information on this family would be very appreciated. Thank you. Deb
